To further strengthen the ability of mediators to respond to complaints filed before the National Meat Inspection Service, twenty-two (22) officials attended an advanced course on mediation. This special course was customized by the CoRe Group to address various needs of the mediators in the performance of their duties. Among new modules introduced included Handling an Emotional Public, Transformative Cell Dialogue Process and Handling Media Interviews.
The NMIS established its mediation service with the training of its first pool of mediators in 2009. Since then, mediation has been an intrinsic part of the services offered by the agency to its stakeholders.
